ESL Utilities

Custom Python scripts to ease our pain and avoid using obsolete and old packages.

To verify your changes, run: ``python test``



Create a python virtual environment

*python 2*
1. Install pip and virtualenv::

python -m ensurepip --user
python -m pip install --user --upgrade pip
python -m pip install --user --upgrade virtualenv

2. Create a virtual environment::

python -m virtualenv $HOME/venv/eslutilities
source $HOME/venv/eslutilities/bin/activate

*python 3*
1. Install pip and virtualenv::

python3 -m ensurepip --user
python3 -m pip install --user --upgrade pip
python3 -m pip install --user --upgrade virtualenv

2. Create a virtual environment::

python3 -m virtualenv $HOME/venv/utilities
source $HOME/venv/utilities/bin/activate

Now you're ready to start.

There are two ways to install ESL Utilities:
1. From the source code; create a virtual environment and then execute, from your local checkout, run: ``pip install --upgrade .``. Now just run the commands in the root of your project.

2. From pip: ``pip install eslutilities``.
